What are they?

During the 1930’s the wheelchair became more commercial with mass production of the first light weight wheelchair and this basic design as not changed much, only improvements in technology.
Types of Wheelchairs
Most wheelchairs are manual type, which rely on someone pushing or using your own arm muscle to pull you along. There are many different versions such as lightweight and foldable chairs.
Over the last few years chairs have become more high tech and are electrically powered, a small motor now moves the rear wheels which in turn move the wheel chair. Again there are many different versions of these such as standing, knee scooter and mobility scooters.
